Water Quality Data from Volunteer Monitors
Below is a summary of some of the data collected by CWMN volunteers from Fall 2022 - Summer 2024.
The ponds span a gradient of low productivity (oligo/mesotrophic) to extremely high productivity (hypereutrophic).

Water clarity is measured with a transparency tube.
Water temperature is measured with the conducivity handheld meter.
Total nitrogen is measured with a segmented flow analyzer.

Conductivity measures how much charge the water holds.
pH is measured with indicator strips from acidic to neutral to basic.
Total phosphorus is measured with a segmented flow analyzer.

Dissolved organic carbon is measured with a total carbon analyzer.
|
Dissolved inorganic carbon is measured with a total carbon analzyer.
|
Chlorophyll is measured with a handheld meter. It is a green pigment found in algae and plants.
